Currents News Special “Pulse of the Parish” Highlights Leaders of Churches in Brooklyn and Queens
For Immediate Release: July 16, 2025
New York’s Catholic station, NET TV, is announcing the premiere of Currents News special “Pulse of the Parish,” on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 7 p.m.
This show profiles individuals who go above and beyond in service to their parish, lending their time, treasure, and talent to the ministry of their church. Currents News Anchor Christine Persichette will introduce viewers to the men and women who are on a mission to share their faith—parishioners who offer a helping hand both in the church and in the community.
Featured parishioners include:
Michael Carestia, facilities manager at the Shrine Church of St. Bernadette and its school in the Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn. Michael is present every day, just as he was years ago when he attended the school as a student.
Marge Migliaccio, a dedicated volunteer at Transfiguration-St. Stanislaus Kostka in Maspeth. Though officially the Saturday receptionist, she can be found at the church on most days, always ready to serve in a variety of capacities.
Catherina Cassiliano, a young parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Bensonhurst, is helping to bring other young people back to the church. She was selected by the pastor to serve as the director of OLG camp.
